LOOK UP is a group exhibition by Jason Lim (Singapore), Melisa Teo (Singapore), Nann Naan (Myanmar), Hélène Le Chatelier (France) and Nicola Anthony (GB). It brings together artworks that have in common to question our relationship with nature.
In a world where more and more people are disconnected from nature by living in megalopolis, art can operate as a link between the human beings and the universe. Moreover, art can contribute to a better understanding of our responsibility towards saving the planet.
The future of the planet is in our hands. Shall we eventually look up and opt for a sustainable development?
The Exhibition runs from April to October 2022 at the EHL Campus Singapore.
3 Lady Hill Road, Singapore 258672.
Visits by appointment only

IT'S A TRICKY SITUATION BY MONA CHOO
Part of the Art Galleries Association Singapore's first online exhibition
A MATTER OF SCALE AND PERSPECTIVE
Curated by John Trung

Abstract work is largely intuitive and therefore, it is not always possible to describe the inspiration in detail. It is much more to do with mood, state of mind, and the level of access to the subconscious mind and to the heart.
Mona Choo's work is guided by the subconscious, by emotion, and by heart energy.
In Mona' s own words, "Texture is important in my paintings but I will not allow it to overwhelm and become the content. I apply the same level of caution to the use of colour and have a limited palette for the same reason. Balance is everything. When you look at one of my abstract paintings, you are looking at my state of mind and my deepest intuitive expression at that moment in time. It is my wish to share this, and I hope that it resonates with my audience at a level that is beyond the intellect."

Subtexts, Mapping Imaginary Territories
by Yves Hasselmann
Watch The Exhibition
Subtexts is a semi-abstract, semi-figurative series of acrylic on canvas conceived as a story without beginning and without end. Created as a response to the confinement endured during the Covid 19 pandemic, the series depicts a gigantic imaginary territory.
It is both an invitation to escape from our everyday condition to find solace in our inner self and a reflection on the new world we have to live in. Watch the video below to see these artworks in the artist's studio.
