Queen of Sheba - The Singapore Sidewalk
Queen of Sheba, refers to the artist's early childhood memory.
Kavita remembers playing this game, which consisted of collecting pebbles, flowers, leaves and other botanical treasures, during long walks with her mother. Since 2012, almost subconsciously reviving the game, every morning in her urban neighbourhood of Singapore, she has been observing, collecting organic and industrial detritus, composing Montages, which she shares on Facebook and Instagram. These inform and are an integral part of all her art making processes.
This exhibition encompasses photographs, monotypes and one oversized mixed media painting on canvas, which is an imprint of the Singapore sidewalk.
