Time is money - Art Sold at a price per Second!
“Time is money” is a well-known saying, which means that we should not waste time because we could be using it to earn money.
For this show the artist, took this saying as a departure point to question the value of time and the value of art and recorded as precisely as possible the time spent to create each of the drawings of the series presented.
Beyond this straight forward approach, this exhibition raises various questions: Can economic theory or philosophy be useful to value our time? Can we measure the value of an art piece by the time spent to create it? How do we measure the time involved in the creation process?
This show encompasses drawings and an installation titled “Le linceul du Temps”, which is a relic of time.
Time Is Money: Time Frieze
The drawings in the Time is Money series have been timed with precision by the artist and are priced at a time per second.
This series is presented as a time frieze, starting with the drawing which requested the shortest amount of time:
10 ‘ 41 ‘ and finishing with the longest one a lotus which took 1h 9’ 17 ‘’
For MADAME each of these drawings is a relic of time, or in other words a way to represent time.

Art Is More Than Time
Time Is More Than Money
Philosophers and scientis have struggled to define time, while many artists have challenged themselves to represent time. This universal topic has a personal dimension for MaDame who decided to become a full time artist after a life changing event.
“The illusion of speed is that is saves time. It looks simple at first sight: finish something in two hours instead of three gain an hour. It’s an abstract calculation, though, done as if each hour of the day were like an hour on the clock, absolutely equal. ” Frederic Gros

Time is Not Money
"Time is a construction of the language and in particular of European languages, which mainly abuses us and makes us divert from the logic of processes.
Since Greek antiquity we have wrapped in word time, chronos in Greek, all that we cannot manage to justify from our distributions and notional disjunctions and take it as the hegemonic and enigmatic cause of our lives.
Chinese language does not say time one unitary and general mode it says season, moment, occasion".
