Fighting Against The Indifference
of Violence

Although Civil War ended in 1990, Lebanon is still surrounded by war zones. The presence of many refugees and terrorist movements within its borders remains a daily challenge for the country.

Old and new, the scars of war are still visible in the Lebanese landscape and daily lives. This is what the artist seeks to represent by marking his canvases with a blow torch.

A Necessary Testimonial Work On Confiscated Memories

20 years later, school materials and public officials still avoid discussing the painful events of the civil war.

Hanibal as well as many others in the artistic community feel it is necessary to remember past violent events in order to heal the suffering and repair the past.

How His Work Fits With Intersections' Vision

Hanibal's unique use of art as a universal language to better understand the history of the Middle East through his personal story.

His nomadic past and world travels mirror the gallery's past nomadic exhibitions in Singapore and Paris.
