Overview

Kyaw Htoo Bala (b. 1992, Myanmar) holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Lasalle College of The Arts, Singapore (2017). Through his multi-media practice, he reflects on contemporary issues. Adopting a surrealistic approach, Bala uses painting, photography, printmaking, sculpting, videography, and digital art to convey his messages. In 2018, he began working as an art director in TV and film. In 2021, he founded Monologue Art Space in Yangon, Myanmar. Now he is curating fellow artists and working together with junior artists. In 2023 he opened Monologue in Chinag Mai where he currently lives and works.

He was one of the finalists for the Sovereign Asian Art Prize in Hong Kong in 2022
